SEIRYUTHEATER international is the new project of Seiryu Gekijo and friends.

Our members come from multinational backgrounds and disciplines and are actively contributing to international theatre and dance in Osaka and the Kansai region.

Why the attached „international“ to Seiryutheater?

A short while ago I thought about the massive language problem encountered here working in theatre.

Modern dance for example incorporates language as well. There it's possible to express cross-cultural ideas and opinions.

„It doesn't work- Theatre is a different genre.“ most people may think here.

But I want to do  theatre in a different way, more than just thinking in Japanese, write in Japanese, work with (Japanese) actors (who just speak Japanese, rehearse in the Japanese way for an Japanese audience and only to perform in Japan.
